Industrial Services Group

When PROCESS started in 1996, our mission was to provide expert applied chemical engineering services to industrial clients – and to be the best at it.   At the time, companies had begun to downsize internal engineering staffs and the ability for a chemical engineer to stay focused on applied process engineering while working for a single company was getting more difficult.   The chemical engineer’s role is heavy on the front-end of projects, however, it is either limited or may evolve into another support role as the project progresses (such as piping design, environmental engineering, project management, etc.) and the full-time role would only return when a new project was initiated.   As we all know, if the process design is less than optimal, a company can be faced with years of effort and expense in fixing it – so the need to get it done right the first time is critical. Therefore, PROCESS set out to provide this valuable service to clients on an as-needed basis so that they could have the expert applied process design services available to maximize the probability of project success.

For over 26 years, PROCESS’ Industrial Services Group has provided process design, process engineering, and process safety services to a wide range of industrial markets; specialty chemical, petrochemical, petroleum refining, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, alternative fuels, metals and minerals processing, and others.   In order to be a leader in the industry, PROCESS (1) hires highly experienced and deeply motivated chemical engineers, (2) invests in state-of-the-art simulation and design tools, (3) follows a very disciplined approach to process design, and (4) remains independent of technology providers, vendors and manufactures, and detailed design firms so that we can provide our client with an unbiased and objective resource.    This combination, along with our commitment to product quality and customer service, has allowed us to grow into the largest independent chemical engineering firm in the country.

PROCESS began providing services to the Industrial Sector out of our corporate office in Oak Ridge, TN. In order to better serve our clients, we opened our first branch office in 2006 in Pennsylvania and shortly after that our second branch office in Alabama.  More recently we have opened an office in Utah. Whether it is assisting large operating companies with front-end engineering process design and process safety services for both capital and expense projects, developing a complete process design package for a new startup company, or supporting local companies with on-site chemical engineering support for commissioning and startup or front-to-back execution of small capital projects, we have been very fortunate to build long-term relationships with our clients.

Our mission is the same today as it was over 26 years ago – to provide expert applied chemical engineering services to clients when they need it – on-time, on-schedule, and on-budget.
