Project Summary

The client, a modular design, fabrication, and construction company based in Canada, contracted Process Engineering International, LLC (PROCESS) to prepare draft startup and shutdown procedures for a new Crude Topping Unit to be installed in Canada.

More specifically, PROCESS reviewed the following information that was provided by the client:

  • Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Process Description
  • Control Narratives
  • Cause and Effect Diagrams
  • Safeguarding Narratives
  • Alarm and Trip Settings
  • Safety Reports.

The final package submitted to the client consisted of preliminary startup and shutdown procedures for the Crude Unit.
