Project Summary
DEVELOPMENT OF CHEMICAL PLANT PIPING & INSTRUMENTATION DIAGRAMS
The client, a specialized international engineering company, contracted Process Engineering Associates, LLC (PROCESS) to develop piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for two new specialty organic chemical production lines that are planned for construction for the ultimate client, a chemical producer in Eastern Europe. PROCESS was supplied with miscellaneous equipment drawings, flow diagrams, process sketches, and notes that outlined the existing production line and the needs for the second and third lines. P&IDs were developed from the information supplied and were revised as needed following a review with on-site personnel. Comments and changes were incorporated as needed to improve production efficiency and to allow for additional product flexibility in the new production lines.
The P&IDs were developed using AutoCAD software and utilized standard PROCESS drawing standards. PROCESS also developed and incorporated valve numbers and line numbering for the drawings.
