Project Synopsis
Provide hydraulic line sizing recommendations for a coke processing plant project.Project Summary
COKE PROCESSING PLANT COLD DUCT DESIGN
The client, a detail engineering company, was contracted by the ultimate client, a power plant technology provider, to design the cold duct system for a coke processing plant. Part of this design was line sizing and providing appropriate pressure conditions to the downstream process; a flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system. Process Engineering Associates, LLC (PROCESS) was subcontracted to execute this part of the project by the client. The tasks involved in this project included:
- Gathering data from the ultimate client and filling in holes with information from a previous project completed by PROCESS
- Running CHEMCAD simulations to determine the duct sizes needed to supply the FGD system with appropriate requirements
The client was given a report with recommendations of sizes and an explanation of all factors that went into the simulations. The report was forwarded to the ultimate client for implementation in the plant design.
