FAILURE MODES EFFECTS ANALYSES (FMEAs) of REFINERY BOILER SYSTEMS
The client is an independent petroleum refinery in the U.S. Process Engineering Associates, LLC (PROCESS) was contracted to performed multiple reliability studies of the client’s boiler systems using the Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology. The physical scope of the FMEAs included the burner management systems and the water/steam side of the boilers. The objective of the FMEAs was to discover scenarios that could directly impact the reliability/availability of the boilers as well as safety impacts to employees.
