Project Synopsis

Develop an issued for design (IFD) process information package to support the safe installation of a new hydrogenation skid for a contract manufacturing/process development/custom fabrication firm.

Project Summary

The client, a contract development and manufacturing organization in Northeastern USA, contracted Process Engineering Associates, LLC (PROCESS) to provide an issued for design (IFD) package for the safe installation of a new hydrogenation skid.  The following tasks were included as part of the engineering support project:

  • Generated a design basis to govern subsequent design tasks.
  • Generated P&IDs depicting all interconnecting process feed lines, utility lines, and vent lines. The drawings depicted new piping with line sizes, new valves, instrumentation and controls.
  • Generated a piping layout drawing showing connection points, valve placement, and routing for all interconnecting piping.
  • Developed a line list and tie-in list for all interconnecting piping. Lists detailed line sizes, connection types, piping specifications, and insulation requirements.
  • Developed a work scope detailing the tie-ins of all interconnecting piping. Instructions included any demolition work required and detailed installation steps.
